In a bizarre incident that left residents of Sunnyvale, California scratching their heads, a local man was rushed to the hospital after attempting to charge his electric car using a solar-powered calculator. The incident has sparked a wave of amusement and disbelief across the city.
Witnesses reported seeing the man, identified as 42-year-old Jack Wattson, frantically plugging his calculator into the car’s charging port. “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said passerby Eileen Dover. “He was standing there, holding the calculator up to the sun and muttering something about saving the planet. I thought it was some kind of performance art.”
Wattson’s neighbor, Seymour Lemons, expressed shock upon learning of the incident. “Jack’s always been a bit eccentric, but this takes the cake,” Lemons remarked. “I once saw him trying to power his toaster with a potato clock, but I never thought he’d go this far.” The fire department arrived on the scene shortly after receiving reports of a man “dancing around his car like a possessed scarecrow.” Firefighter Daisy Flowers described the scene as “equal parts hilarious and concerning.” Wattson was promptly taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered no serious injuries, although his pride may have been severely wounded. As for his car, it remains uncharged, and Wattson’s family is considering staging an intervention to address his apparent obsession with unconventional energy sources.
